Welcome
I am a mechanical engineer with a special interest in medical simulation, robotics, and haptics. Since april 2005 I work at the Deformable Models group of the IMI site of the National Research Council Canada.
We started a project in 2008 to develop a neurosurgery simulator called NeuroTouch. The simulator allows surgeons to practice procedures like tumour removal. The computer generated simulation incorporates stereoscopic vision and haptic (force) feedback. Below is a 2009 CBC report on the simulator being used with patient specific data for a pre-operative rehearsal.
